Apple introduces the first 17 inch display in one of their
laptop computer. Equivalent in size to a 19 inch CRT screen,
but considerably lighter in weight. Apple does not stop here
they have added many excellent new and practical features and
upgrades. One new feature is a key board which is able to sense
the presence of surrounding light. When low light is present
the key board will glow. This is a self contain portable studio
which allows the director to start a project and out put the
finish product to a DVD.
The Laptop has a 1GHz PowerPC G4 with Velocity Engine. Installed
memory includes one 512MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM running at (333MHz).
One more slot is provided for a total of
up to 1GB memory. The OSX operating system takes full use of
the velocity engine, speeding up programs like graphic intense
programs.
Useful for the graphic designer but
games play well with the NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go, which is supports
64MB of DDR SDRAM. There is APG 4X support and video memory for
2D/3D graphic acceleration. A DVI output port and a VGA output
when using the included DVI to VGA adapter.
Next generation in FireWire technology
is introduce here. One 800Mbps and One 400Mbps FireWire port
is offered to hook up devices such as camcorders and hard drives.
Two USB for connecting external keyboard, optical mouse or other
devices.
