| The SHARP FP-R65CX works with filters or you can increase the cleaning action by including the Plasma Cluster ion functions. I liked having more than one choice and Sharp does just that. You can switch the Sentinel off or on. Represented in the photo above. When the fan is set to "Auto" the speed will change when the clean light changes to orange or red. Cleaning is done by actively pull dirty air through the filter system (pre-filter, charcoal and True Hepa filter) |

| Cleaning can be assisted with the Plasma Cluster, when in use the process takes less time. An equal amount of positive and negative ions are released into the surrounding air above the unit. Dust and other impurities bond with the ions and the filter system |
| Sharp offers the user a one and four hour timer. I like using the timer when the ion generator is on during the day. Only the FP-R65CX offers two choices of timers. Other air purifiers by Sharp,offer: a one hour, four hour, and an eight hour timer. I would have liked an on timer as well. So that the FP-R65CX could be on in the office instead of letting it run during the night. Sharp does add a "Quick Clean" function to the Sharp FP-R45CX the next in this years lineup. In this mode the fan will stay at maximum fan speed for fifteen minutes. After fifteen minutes returns to auto fan operation. |
| When the "Clean" indicator is RED in color the air is very impure. Some smells that will turn the clean mode red were: pet odour, canned air freshener smell, most cleaning solvents, bleach, rubbing alcohol, smoke |
